The Jewish people are coming home. After 2,000 years of exile and wandering, we are being recalled to our land, Israel.

Immigration to Israel is called “Aliyah”, Hebrew for “ascent” and our people have begun ascending to our national home. Today more than half of the world’s Jews are in Israel and this number is growing.

There are two challenging steps to making Aliyah. Everyone talks about the ultimate challenge of building one’s life in Israel. But few talk about the initial difficult step – the daunting challenge of breaking free from the exile. Leaving the country of your birth, forfeiting its comfort and familiarity, breaking with the past, with family and with “the known” is a true act of bravery. For some, it is also the moment when they turn back, afraid of what such a move would do to them.

“The Aliyah Revolution Album” is not about making it in Israel. It is about having the strength to break out of the powerful gravitational pull of America and the other countries of the Diaspora. The purpose of the music collected here is to give you strength and inspiration in those moments when you need a reminder or a boost – when the exile is getting you down. Music is a powerful medicine to mend the broken spirit, and that is what our nation needs now more than ever – spirit! We need guts to wake up, to get up, to stop being afraid. This album is about the freedom of fearlessness and the wings to fly home.

Amazing people have helped make the vision of the Aliyah Revolution CD a reality and we are grateful to them: first and foremost, we thank music manager extraordinaire Jonty Zwebner for making it all happen (and Rabbi Judah Mischel for introducing us to him), music guru and radio show host Ben Bresky for help with dedication and song selection, Rachel Bresky for amazing graphics, Israel National Radio for calling out to the Exiles, and the great pro-Aliyah organizations which help this generation live the dream and have made it easier then ever before. Special thanks to Dr. Zhenia Fleisher, Ezra HaLevi, Go’el Jasper, Andy Alchular, and the many others who have contributed time and money to this project, and of course, to all the gifted bands and musicians who believe in Aliyah, sing about it and have allowed us to include their songs in this fantastic musical collection. We hope you enjoy the album – may it inspire you, brothers and sisters, to arise! Destiny is calling you home to our beloved Israel.
