The Real Greatest Mistake

Richard Cohen declared in yesterday's Washington Post that "the greatest mistake Israel could make at the moment is to forget that Israel itself is a mistake." Yes, that's right he called the Jewish State a mistake!

And of course the obvious blogger comeback to that (and I'm surprised I haven't seen it out there yet) is "guess what Dick, you're a mistake!"

But no, there's no need for personal insults (even if he did insult a whole nation.) The answer to Cohen is happening right now as I type this post. In JFK airport 230 North American Jews are boarding a plane and coming to Israel. They are not coming to visit. They are coming to live here!

Richard - you think they are afraid of the missiles? Of course they are! We all are. But guess what? We have bigger things to worry about in America. That's right, I said it.

Richard - let me ask you this: Are your kids Jewish? Are your grandkids? Do they even know how to read Hebrew? These 230 Olim know that assimilation is a far greater risk to the Jewish Nation than any Katyusha or Kassam rocket could ever be.

The Jews returning to their ancestral Homeland was a mistake?
Sir, the biggest mistake was Jews thinking they could live in America without forgetting what it means to be a Jew and making fools of themselves in Op/Ed pieces.
